Kylie Stultz-Dessent is a versatile artist with a varied career as educator, soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. She is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Clarinet Purdue University Fort Wayne School of Music in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Previously she has served as an Adjunct Instructor of clarinet and chamber music at Ball State University. She enjoys an active performing agenda and has performed around the country.
Additionally, Kylie is a member of The Novacane Quartet, an award winning clarinet quartet founded in 2014. The Novacane Quartet's awards include grand prize for the Chicago Clarinet Ensemble's International Clarinet Ensemble Competition in 2014 and advancing as a semi-finalist in the 2016 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.
In addition to performing, Kylie is highly sought after private clarinet instructor. Her students consistently place in the Indiana All-State ensembles, receive top ratings at solo festivals and competitions, and have gone to study at prestigious music schools such as Indiana University.
In 2014 Kylie co-founded the Indiana Clarinet Experience (ICE) - a weeklong clarinet institute emphasizing chamber music, music appreciation, and musicality. She directs this camp annually each June.
Kylie has attended and performed at several international music festivals such as Orford Summer Academy, Windfest, and the Banff Centre Masterclasses for String and Winds in Alberta, Canada.
Kylie is a Selmer Performing Artist and a doctoral candidate at the esteemed Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. She is in the final stages of her degree as a student of James Campbell. She received her Master's degree in 2014 from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and graduated with high honors from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with an undergraduate degree in clarinet performance in 2012.
